Santorum Hits the Trail Again

Rick Santorum, the come-from-behind winner of the 2012 Iowa caucuses, hit the road again in Iowa.

With his first campaign stop Thursday after announcing his 2016 presidential candidacy the day before in Pennsylvania, the former U.S. senator visited the Iowa Machine Shed, where he gave a relatively brief seven-minute stump speech.

Then, he spent an hour and 10 minutes taking questions.

Paul: Providing Arms to Syrian Rebels Led to ISIS Growth

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul said Thursday that “no one’s to blame for ISIS, other than ISIS,” but he nonetheless argued that the idea the terrorist group rose up because of the decision to pull American troops out of Iraq is false.

Paul, who announced his candidacy for president last month, was in Davenport to sign his new book and make remarks at Modern Woodmen Park.

In some cases with books in hand, many of the more than 300 people who had packed the Rogalski Center at St. Ambrose University in Davenport to hear Carson’s formal remarks queued up for a chance to get some one-on-one time with him.

Davenport, IA. Former Governor of Texas, Rick Perry and potential Presidential candidate will visit Scott County on Friday, March 20 for a meet and greet. The Governor’s visit will take place at the Scott County GOP office and will begin at 5:30 pm. The Scott County GOP office is in the Paul Revere Complex, 2322 E. Kimberly Road, Davenport, in the West Building, Suite 235. Entrance is on the back side of the complex, not the side facing Kimberly Road.  Please note….we have moved from our North Park Mall office to the Paul Revere site. The event is free and open to the public.

Governor Perry, the 47th Governor of Texas served from 2000-2015.  He bears the title of longest serving Governor in Texas history and is the fourth Texas Governor to serve 3 terms. He is a former rancher, former Air Force pilot, and has served as Chairman of the Republican Governor’s Association.
