63 Days Until Primary Election

With only 63 DAYS until Primary Election Day, here are some important items to be aware of.

POLL WORKERS NEEDED

Republicans who are interested in being paid poll workers for the June primary election and the November general election should call our office at 563.823.5854. Poll workers are trained by the county auditor’s office and will need to attend an overall training on May 30, as well as an “e poll book” training on May 7. The shift for poll workers is 6:00 a.m.- 9:00 p.m., and the pay is $8.00/hour. Poll workers may or may not be assigned to their own precincts and will be assigned by the county auditor’s office.

NEW VOTER REGISTRATION CARDS

You should have received your new voter registration card from the county auditor’s office by now. Please review to make sure all is correct on the card and that you are listed in the correct precinct. You may confirm your precinct by looking on the Scott County Auditor’s website and clicking on precinct finder.

KEY DATES FOR THE JUNE 5TH PRIMARY ELECTION

April 24: Absentee ballots ready in the auditor’s office

May 21: Postmark deadline for mail in voter registration

May 26: 5:00 p.m. Voter pre registration deadline; Auditor’s office open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. for voter registration

June 1: Deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail

NOTE: If you do not request an absentee ballot, you will not automatically receive one as you might have before. So be sure to request one if you would like to vote by mail.

June 5: Election Day! Polls open 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

We are working hard to lay the groundwork for success in the 2012 election. If you are interested in volunteering please let us know by calling us at 563-823-5854. We hope to have our larger headquarters open and running sometime in June and we will keep you informed of that status.

Sincerely,

Judy Davidson

Chairwoman

Scott County Republicans
